RMIT Brunswick Campus - Refurbishment
Brunswick, VIC, Australia

RMIT school of Fashion, Brunswick _ with Paul Morgan Architects
The renovation of a restrictive set of spaces that the fashion school had inherited needed to be altered to accommodate this dynamic discipline as well as provide communication to students around the use of spaces. We worked with Paul Morgan Architects to give legibility to the tight floor plate that had a tight stair way linking each floor. By utilising Anamophic shapes, inspired by Felice Varini, gave a sophisticated way finding logic to the tight circulation zones to create an engaging dynamic project. By running a pattern through a parametric model we are able to compress and expand space as students orientate themselves from the stair to the classroom and back down the stairs again. This project is part of a continuing collaboration with Paul Morgan Architects www.paulmorganarchitects.com at the RMIT Brunswick Campus.
